Mentally Ill On US Streets Lack Support

A rising number of homeless people who are mentally ill are not able to receive treatment in the United States. Most homeless shelters only take in people who are deemed mentally stable, and don't offer psychological services. It's estimated more than 50 percent of the people living on the streets are mentally ill. Many even break into homes, hoping to be sent to jail to get meals and medication.
