@RICKRODEN i agree with everything you said. just remember... ignorant people don't know they're ignorant...
Can i eat the baby now?
Ok, as cute as it is if you are knowledgeable about dogs, you should recognize that middle picture. The dog is posturing. He is getting the smell on him. Have you ever seen a dog do this is the yard or with his toys? It is a sign of ownership and dominance. the dog views the baby as his possession and not necessarily in a good way. Not recognizing that and encouraging this interaction is extremely risky. Yes, I believe children (even infants) should be introduced to the family dog, but the dog is NOT the one in charge. The dog needs to understand the child is the possession of his master. It is VERY important for the parent to set the rules of the relationship between the child and the dog.
My opinion? None of us know this dog. We haven't raised him (her?), and we have no right to judge anyone. Sure, voice your opinions. That's what these comment boxes are for.
However, it should be kept civil, it should be kept respectful, and no one should be called any kind of name.
We can't possibly claim to know what this dog will do. It's clear that it's owners trust the dog, and often that will make all the difference in the world.
It's just not our place to say anything towards another person. Just post your opinion, maybe engage in civil, respectful debate that you can back up with citations. Then just let it be.
No point fighting over something so silly.
@rickroden Grow some Balls little bitch,
Wow. You must be a sad, sorry little man to go ahead and attack someone who's never said one word against you.
It's not me that needs the balls. I'm more of a man then you'll ever be, and I'm more of a woman then you'll ever have.
Now, can we drop the 15 year old act and grow up?
That is really unhygienic. In the fourth picture, the baby's eye/ mouth is on top of the dog's paw.
Why is it, my friend, that all of you most be so objective? You look past the fact that the baby is not hurt, and these pictures are all cute. And also, as a dog owner, a large Rotty Hound mix, specifically, and a parent of a seven year old girl, I can say with certainty that a lot of dogs, though they seem large, and they can bite a babies head off, most of the time they're are just big sucks. Unless, of course, you are a bad owner. In that case, it's your fault that your babies dead :P. Although you may say I'm being a total dick (and I cannot denie you that, because your opinion is your opinion, and cannot be changed, if you are how I think you are), I am just being, you know, a smart ass () ()\__/
There is a lot of obvious dog haters commenting on this pic. If you dont like the idea of dogs and babies together then FUCK OFF AND DON'T LOOK AT IT. I hate you so much it makes me want to bludgeon you to death. Id be FAR more concerned if my child was snuggling with a cat.
Ya if that dog was already known to be aggressive and did not know the child then you'd have a point, its the same thing with any other animal. Just cause its a large dog. You know what never mind. Fuck you armchair dog behaviorists you don't know what the hell you talking about.
By most of the logic here any and all movies game photos or ideas that could be copied by people especially children are horrible horrible things and should never have been in existence. People are raised surrounded by all sorts of dangers. Their own parents, siblings, and other relative could harm them and you would never know until it was too late. I know from experience. Nothing is truly safe. But you make your decisions based on what you know, how you feel about the situation, and the pros and cons. My do is wonderful with children of all ages. Whether they are playing, have food, or are jumping on him. I watch them carefully of course as I don't want any of them including my dog making a misstep and getting hurt. But I trust that he would not rip anyone's face off. Just as I trust my brother not to steal rape and murder my children. I'm sure if these people thought for a second that their dog would harm their baby, or if they had ever seen any behavior before that would imply dominance or misbehavior in this do they wouldn't have let this happen. You cant go around living your life based on accidents that once in a great while happen. Because if you did that you would never be able to move without fear of dying from some freak accident.
While we are at it why don't we keep the kid away from the neighbors, they can molest kids out of the blue! I mean, the nicest neighbor and BAM he totally fucks your kid up for the rest of his life! Also keep that kid away from peanuts, sometimes kids have allergies out of the blue and fuck man....your kids going into anaphylactic shock!Honestly yes, it could be seen as irresponsible to put your baby near your beloved dog because you trust the dog, but parents do worse things every single day. Save the "moron" comments for the guy who puts his kid in the washing machine at a laundromat, not the mom/dad that wants to have a photo with her/his baby and family pet.
danny your a fuckin idiot ,i raised saints and shepherds i love them ,but to put a small child in such a dangerous position hey man u r soooo wrong
Also, my family owned a German shephard. I agree with alot of the argument, except one part. If the dog wasn't totally trusted, do you really think the person with the camera would dare let this happen? When I was a baby, we had to be introduced to the dog, and guess what? She acted like a second mother to me. I cuddled with her and fell asleep curled up with her. I have NEVER been bitten by her or my new dog. Wanna know why? Because we trust them and we don't hide away from them. If they know your scared, they will turn it into a game. They don't understand. So everyone, I know you have your own opinions but god, there is no risk here!
I guess I'll post the link to the article that was posted THE DAY BEFORE THIS ONE WAS,
it's not only OK, it ought to be mandatory. a kid who hasn't had a thousand hours of dog time by the time he takes his first step is going to grow up to be a quaking, shrill, know-it-all wanker on the internet.
for that matter, a family that doesn't own a dog, or whose dog isn't baby-safe, shouldn't breed anyway.
No offense... this dog is showing that baby who is the Boss. Let's just hope he doesn't think it necessary to go any further. What we think "looks cute" is a very large dog pinning a baby to the ground and rubbing it's scent all over it to ensure that this lesser member of the family doesn't get any strange ideas about who is the Boss.
This is child endangerment and should be forwarded to social services.
There is nothing cute about this.
You all are idiots. Who gives a fuck. It made a cute picture, stfu. I for one HAVE this type of dog, and two labs, and we have kids that play with them all the time. One instance of a kid getting bit by a dog doesn't mean that every time a dog and a baby are together the baby is going to die. Just shut up. It's her dog and her baby and if she wants them to hang out then FINE. It's not your choice. On the other hand, there's a lot of worse things she could be doing. Like leaving her baby ALONE with the dog? Or leaving it in a car? Theres a BIG difference between a baby and a dog being friends and an irresponsible parent. For the love of God, people are so judgemental and stupid. I hate the world -.-
To be honest, my first reaction was "This is ridiculous", but cute. My main concern is the welfare of that child, granted there might have been people on the sidelines watching. It does only take a second for that dog to snap that baby in half. Just look at the force he could bring! His head smushed down on the baby could have ended in him rolling on her, as is what happens with a lot of dogs I see (they push their heads down and then roll their bodies I mean, not neccissarily on babies).
With all of that being said, and the fact that nobody was harmed in the taking of this picture, I think this is friggen adorable.
Can you say "Photoshopped"?
I apologize in advance for any offense taken to this comment. I also forgive in advance, any negative comments thrown back my way. Especially if they are all IN CAPS SO I FULLY UNDERSTAND THE MAGNITUDE OF YOUR DISBELIEF AND FURY. With that being said: an eagle could have swooped down and carried this baby right off the blanket before you even knew what was happening. A bug carrying a deadly disease could have bitten this baby's unprotected face. A deer could have ran across the yard and trampled the baby. Their pet, who they clearly trust enough to let around this adorable, precious baby, could admittedly also have suddenly turned vicious and attacked the baby. However, none of these things happened, no one got hurt and this baby has avoided disfigurement and death for another day. Remind me again why you're trying to argue a hypothetical situation on a picture of something else entirely???? All i see is a well behaved, gentle dog and a smiling, happy little baby. sit back, shut up, and enjoy the cuteness you angry pessimist.
